It's Christmas at the Burleson's House!

So, I couldn't even wait for Thanksgiving to be over. I had to put up my very first tree all of my own at our house. So much fun! We had been looking at this tree at Target for as long as they have had the trees on display. So on Wednesday night before Thanksgiving, Chris and I just had to go ahead and put it up! I was so excited and we love having it on! We also are really glad to have it already up because we will be leaving for our Honeymoon on the day after Christmas, so we have that whole week after Christmas that we won't be enjoying it. Why not put it up a little early huh? Heck, I would have put it up sooner. aha. Anyway, here's the tree in the living room.

You seriously don't even need any over head lights or lamps on. This baby puts out some light.

I decided today not to get out with the "Crazies" and do some Black Friday shopping. (Note: I can call the people who shop on Black Friday "Crazies" because many of them are my friends and family) However, I had this feeling inside that I just had to have a Memphis Tiger tree in my house. I had it at my mom's so I gotta have it at my house! Today, Chris and I went to my mom's to borrow a ladder (for tomorrow hanging Christmas lights, ha) and Chris and I stopped in Hobby Lobby. They had the most perfect skinny Christmas tree for my kitchen, and hello, BONUS everything Christmas in that store was 50% off! So we got it, along with some Tiger inspired decor. Check it out!

So, I'm seriously in love with this tree now. Also, I have a dear friend who made me a "Just Married" ornament that was Tiger inspired so of course it had to be on this tree. LOVE IT!

That's the front and back. She's making them for anyone and she's not just doing them for newlyweds either. She's so talented. Leave me a comment if you wanna hook up with her on Facebook and get your own custom ornament. I know I will be getting more!

So that's all for tonight, tomorrow I teach Jazzercise in the morning and then maybe a pedicure?? I really want one before I go back to school. After that, I must hurry home to supervise the hanging of the Christmas lights. Chris has already complained that the neighbor already has his up and he swears ours are going to look better. Clark Griswald look out....ha!

Hope your Thanksgiving was a blessed one,

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Well, it's out first married holiday. I have so much to be thankful for.

I have a husband who loves me and would do anything for me, and I would do that same for him. I have a family who loves and spoils me (especially my momma). I have an amazing new job that I left on Tuesday afternoon with a big smile on my face (even though I really need the break!) I have wonderful friends who are there for me to lean on through thick and thin. I'm thankful for a home that has a beautiful Christmas tree in it right now (I couldn't wait). Lastly, I'm thankful for the Lord who provided me with all of these things I just mentioned.

So, I haven't blogged in a few days. It's because I've been super busy! Last Thursday night Chris and I went to see Brad Paisley. It was so much fun, and I was so glad that he sang our first dance song from the wedding! Then...

Our seats were great too!! Such a wonderful night spent with the hubster.

Then on Friday night we had a surprise birthday party for my best friend's sister and dear friend, Kristin Hundley! It was 80's themed and SO much fun. She was surprised and we all had a blast getting dressed up for it. I went as Madonna and Chris went as Michael Jackson. Oh you want pictures don't ya??

So, after that I taught Jazzercise on Saturday morning and then Chris and I jetted off to Nashville for a Tennessee Titans game. His dad invited us up for the weekend. We went and had a blast tailgating and seeing the game. The highlight of the game for me was when a woman and her daughter came on the field thinking they were just going to see a video of their husband/dad on the jumbo-tron all the way from Afganistan. Well, the man came out on a gator and surprised them!! It was so sweet, it even made it on the news here in Memphis! Here are some pictures from the game:

So here we are today, resting before we have his family over for a small Thanksgiving get together at our this afternoon....then it's off to my side of the family's Thanksgiving at my aunt and uncle's this evening. Chris and I call it marathon eating. Haha.

I hope all of you have a blessed Holiday.

Love,

Super Weekend!

This weekend was great! I hated to see it go, but there are many more fun weekends to come!

For example, this weekend we have a fabulous party to attend, Jazzercise Saturday morning, and then Chris' dad invited us to sit in his box seats at the Titans game on Sunday! I've never been to a Titan's game, and I've certainly never sat in a box. What does a girl wear to be sporty but cute to an event like that??? help!!

Tomorrow is book Character day at school. I'm going as Fancy Nancy. Fun!

Friday is Milk and Cookies day and everyone is wearing pajamas to bed. More fun!!

This past Sunday night Chris and I and some friends went to see one of our most favorite comedians: Dane Cook.

He was everything I expected to me....and pretty good looking too (shhh!)

Take a look:
Chris and I waiting for the show to start!

Kim, Shane, Wes, Innocence, Me and Chris

Here's DANE!

We had great seats. 6th row on the floor. He looks just like he does on TV and sounds like himself too. There were so many good jokes....all appropriate??? Not so much. But still a good time.

Anyway, another week has begun, and before I know it I'll be out for Thanksgiving break. I just can't wait to decorate my first Christmas tree all of my own!! So fun.

Anyone got their Christmas decorations out yet?? I'm soooo ready!

Happy Blogging!

Exhausted!

What a day! Started it off with a great Jazzercise Circuit class this morning, cleaned out the office, and cleaned the entire house. Now I'm just plain exhausted!

Last night we went to the Memphis Tiger's opening season game at the FedEx Forum. What a great game! I actually started to feel bad for the other team. We won 104 to 40. I can't even remember the name of the school we played anymore. Coach cleared the bench like 3 times. Our team looks good this year. However, it's hard to tell when we play teams like that. I can't wait until we get a good match up to see exactly how we are going to do. Perhaps when we play the Vols. We play there this year...and last time we were there we WON. Who remembers Antonio Anderson's half court shot at the half??!!

Basketball makes me excited y'all!

Anyway, Chris and I will be back at the forum on Sunday night, but not for another game. We have tickets to Dane Cook! He's our favorite comedian. We are going with friends. Should be a great time. We will be sitting 6th row!

In addition, we will be back at the forum on Thursday night, for BRAD PAISLEY! I am so excited to go to his concert because Chris and I danced to one of his songs has our first dance at the wedding. The song was "Then" and it fits us perfectly.

"Now your my whole life, now your my whole world. I just can't believe the way I feel about you, girl. Like a river meets the sea, stronger than it's ever been. We've come so far since that day. And I thought I loved you then..."

Ahh, the wedding. Three weeks ago we were all rushing around to get read for the big event. It is amazing how long you take to prepare for a moment that is over so fast. I have such great memories that will last forever. My uncle walking me down the isle, all of my girls crammed on a golf cart while weaving through trick or treaters at zoo boo, seeing my sweet momma in her pretty dress, and most of all...the look on Chris' face when he saw me for the first time.

Everyone tells you it goes by so fast, and it truly does! I can't wait to see the wedding video so that I can relive the moment, and maybe see some things I missed!!!

So, I just heard the Vols beat Ole Miss today. I suppose they needed the confidence booster by beating up on Memphis last week. That's alright...basketball has started! Watch out Vols! In the words of Leigh Ann Touhy from The Blind Side: "...But I will not wear that gaudy orange, I will not. It is not my colour wheel and I'm not gonna wear it."

Haha. Happy Saturday Y'all

I'm Back!!

After being on a blog hiatus for the past hmmmm....4 months I feel like it's time to start blogging again, but as the new me!

From Ms. to Mrs.!

Y'all...I almost just have too much to write to explain how amazing my life has been these past four months. I have had so many emotional extremes it's unbelievable!

The wedding was absolutely more than I could ever ask for, and all of my friends and family helped pull the day off. If anything went wrong, I don't know about it, and I don't care if I ever do! All that matters is that I'm married and loving it!

In a post coming soon, I'll just post a bazillion pictures and take you through my night, but I just don't have the time at the moment!

For now, I'm going to do a "What I'm Loving Wednesday"

1. I am loving that we had the screen door hung this afternoon and we can now enjoy leaving the front door open on nice days.

2. I am loving that we moved our TV into the actual living room where the fireplace and SOON TO BE CHRISTMAS TREE will be.

3. I am loving getting back to teaching Jazzercise regularly again. I was missing it!

4. I am loving that I finally got a hair cut after growing my hair out for the wedding (nothing too drastic, just a good trim)

5. I am loving that on Friday night I'm going to the Memphis Tigers first on schedule game with a bunch of friends.

6. I am loving that on Sunday night I will be sitting 6th row laughing my butt off at Dane Cook.

7. I am loving that everyday I leave work with a smile.

8. And lastly, I am loving that I am typing this blog as I lay on the couch with my hubby watching TV. Life is good!

I'm back y'all...and I promise to post!

Seven on Saturday

So everyone is always posting their "Five on Friday" and I missed out on Friday so I decided to do a "Seven on Saturday." I haven't been blogging much here lately, but things have been craaaaaazy in the last couple of weeks. So, I know you all are just dying to read all of this stuff about me. Hehe.

1. I am obsessed with my polar watch that I wear when I teach Jazzercise. It is a way for me to track how hard I am working during class, the amount of calories I've burned, and the range of my heart rate. All of this information that the watch provides me helps me to better plan a smooth class for my students so that they can burn a whole mess of calories. So far, my highest calorie burning amount has been 803 in an hour. WHEW.

2. I just cleaned out the kitchen cabinets here at the house. Chris had some really random bachelor things in this house. Keyword there is "had." I just took 5 bags of trash out to the trash can outside. I feel sooooo much better knowing all of that is done. It's a task that has been needing to be done for quite awhile.

3. I'm starting to freak out about all of the wedding tasks that need to be done before this wedding that will take place in 70 DAYS! I need to finish invitations, meet with the photographer, meet with the DJ, premarital counseling, and lots and lots of other things!

4. I am both excited and nervous for Monday morning when I will begin teaching at SGM this school year. We had our parent meeting on Thursday night and it was great to see the parents of these wonderful students I'll be teaching this year. I am also very happy to be working with a super sweet associate teacher this year. Monday morning each homeroom is going to wear a college t-shirt that their homeroom represents. For example, my 3rd grade homeroom is Rhodes College so I will be wearing my red Rhodes shirt with khakis. It's kind of nice not to have to think about what to wear on Monday!

5. Khakis. I didn't have a good pair of long pants khakis. I looked at Target and a couple of other places after teaching Jazzercise this morning. I was just going to head home but decided to make one more stop by Gap. I found THE MOST comfortable pair of khakis there. I wound up getting a pair of normal color khakis and a slightly darker color. They are hip slung fit and they just feel so good on. I have heard that on Gap online you can order other colors in that fit! I will definitely be ordering some of those in the future. Oh, and a bonus is that when I got to the register the lady told me that Gap card members get 40% off. BONUS!

6. Canvases. I am totally in love with canvas art. Most recently Mackenzie Neel (my mom's boss' daughter) painted 4 for me. Two with Bible verses for my home, one with a Bible verse for my classroom, and one more canvas for my bedroom that says "Always Kiss Me Goodnight." They are amazing, she is soooo talented.

7. Big Brother 12. Okay so this season apparently I have gotten Chris totally hooked. For those of you who haven't been watching, it's totally worth the time. In fact it's what I look forward too most to help me relax in the evening! Chris is so obsessed that he subscribed to the live feed where you can watch what is going on in the Big Brother house at all times. Now he's convinced he is going to apply to be on the show next season....yeah.....right....

So there you have it, my 7 on Saturday. I hope you all have a blessed weekend. I'm enjoying mine so far and looking forward to spending the rest of the weekend resting up for my kiddos coming on Monday. Stay tuned for pictures of my classroom and my students!

Pretty Big Update!

I know I haven't posted any pictures of the finished floors, new furniture, and me all moved in! I'm so very excited. I've been very stressed lately too, just because of a new job, new house, and a wedding to plan. Every once in awhile I take some deep breaths and bring myself back to earth! So anyway, this post is going to be picture heavy, but I wanted to let you all see the pretty much (always a work in progress) finished product! So, here is your mini tour of our new home!

Sitting Area (Where we spend most of our time.)

Sitting Area/Kitchen (Look how awesome the tile turned out!)

And the MASTER CLOSET!

So there you have it! A quick tour! We've already had guests over which was super exciting. Kim, Megan and Ryan came over for dinner and games last Friday. Katie, Brad, Becca, and Hayden brought us a YUMMY dinner last Sunday night. My mom came over Wednesday and I cooked a Mexican dinner for her! Tonight Chris' mom and sister are coming over for spaghetti. I know it sounds simple, but I'm making the sauce and everything....oh and strawberry shortcake for dessert! Yum.

I'd love to hear y'alls thoughts on the house! We are so proud, but we still have a lot that we want to accomplish. I'm very happy!
