Yep...that says, "Burleson." (Excuse the green tint, my camera on my phone doesn't take the best quality.) I'm starting the year out as Burleson because it will be easier on the kids and literally only a month and a half will I be "Chrostowski." I don't think that'll jinx my marriage. ;) Anyway...my associate teacher is Mrs. Bayzie. I just love her to death. She is so sweet and I can't wait to start planning with her. In fact tomorrow I am going to meet her at school so she can see the room she hasn't seen yet! She's very excited, and so am I! So the following are some pictures of how the room is shaping up. I think it's really starting to look more and more like a classroom. I had a lot of organizing to do, but it's coming right a long!
My teaching table station. That little table behind there is for all my teacher things!
Library area. Believe it or not, those are all St. George's books! I had to store all mine in the closet because they already had so many!
Bulletin board area and rolling easel
Shot of the room from the doorway
Another angle of the room
So as you can see, I've gotten everything arranged how I pretty much want it. Now it's on to decorating. (The fun part!) It's coming along really well!
Yesterday Chris and I went and met with the flooring people and finalized the flooring. It has been picked and will arrive Monday. They should start installing soon after that. Looks like this weekends task will be ripping up carpet! We are going to get ceramic tile in the kitchen and sitting room area. The remainder of the house (besides the bathrooms which already have ceramic tile) will be wood (laminate). So, here is what we selected!
Again, ignore that green tint, but this is the tile. The squares will actually be much bigger (20x20). We picked this tile because it will hopefully hide dirt and will also complement the green in the kitchen very nicely!
And here is a sample of our laminate wood flooring! It's called black canyon cherry. It's so rich and dark. I looooooove it!
I just can't tell you how excited I am to see this floor put down. Once the flooring begins, Chris and I will pick out furniture and once that is delivered and settled I will be moving in. I know traditionally you aren't supposed to wait until after your married, but between a new job, and a wedding I just couldn't see myself moving in the middle of all that. So, no haters please! Ha!
Anyway, tell me your thoughts on the classroom....and the flooring! I'd love the feedback!
Happy Blogging!

Classroom is looking good Mrs. Burleson! We won't get into ours until August, but I am not worried. Also, don't worry about living together before you are married! It will probably make the transition after the wedding easier. I am obviously a big fan of it :)
ReplyDeleteI have read that first book - we did it this past spring in my mom's group. I haven't read the second one - but I have read When Women Say Yes to God and I am currently reading one that Lysa wrote for moms. She is awesome!
