You know, that whole part "the ADVENTURES of a Newlywed?" Yeah, that was us yesterday.
So we wake up Sunday, ready to start our day. I head into the kitchen and the water is just barely dribbling out of the faucet. I immediately tell Chris to get out of bed and check it out. Well he walked around the outside, and down by the street where the water line is and it all looked fine.
We did what comes natural next...we call the water department. Well, little did we know that on the weekends the water department reroutes their calls to the police department. We felt a little silly calling the police to tell them about our water, but they were gracious and had already heard of the problem.
Down the road from our subdivision they are building a new gas station. Like we need another gas station right? So anyway, someone installed a fire hydrant recently and apparently did a CRAPPY job doing it. The line busted and water was shooting out everywhere. Chris drove by several times and there was no one there! Just water shooting up out of the ground.
Well, as the day went on, I needed a shower. I mean come on, we missed church, and I was going to have to miss my girl's lunch if I didn't get a shower. And THAT wasn't going to happen.
Eventually they shut our water off completely, not like the dribble was much help, and I had to pack and head to my mom's to take a much needed shower.
One would think that after spending 3 hours out getting a shower and having lunch, that the water would be back on....nope. After calling again we were told that it could be out all night. UGH. So we didn't really know what to do as far as going to work the next day and how we would get ready. We could go stay at my mom's but that was inconvenient because it puts us both further from work. We could go to a hotel, but that puts us out of money.
So here was our game plan y'all. We said that we were going to take bottled water showers if the water still wasn't on. NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT! Well, thank Heavens we didn't have to do that because at about 9:30 it sounded like a wave was coming over the house. All the water came back! Yay! So now, both Chris and I have a much deeper thankfulness in our hearts for water!
So this will be one of the first of what I am sure will be "the Adventures of a Newlywed."
Hehe.
